Cuba is implementing a program to confront cultural colonization.
The call is to remain vigilant against the pressures exerted by cultural colonization, a context in which the defense of national identity and traditions must be reinforced.
At its core, the program urges a constant critical analysis of the imposition of individualism and the “every man for himself” mentality promoted by capitalist ideology.
To this end, the initiative “Sembrar ideas, sembrar conciencia” (Sowing Ideas, Sowing Awareness) is being developed, inspired by a phrase from the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, who encourages Cubans to uphold cultural resistance.
This initiative’s fundamental goal is to promote national roots and heritage through workshops held in educational institutions, media spaces, and within families, as a way to counter the consumption of trivial content.
