The National Program for the Advancement of Women was approved by Presidential Decree 198/2021. It reflects the sentiment and political will of the Cuban State and serves as a cornerstone in the development of policies in favor of women, while continuing the progress and development of gender equality in the country.
It promotes targeted actions to achieve greater comprehensiveness and effectiveness in the prevention and elimination of manifestations of discrimination against women; and to strengthen mechanisms and the professional capacity of public officials and civil servants to incorporate gender issues into the design of policies, programs, and the delivery of services.
